As a fashion design graduate, Alan Ho made remarkable achievements prior to being engaged in the Direct selling industry. He at one time owned two personal fashion brands and served as an image coordinator and fashion designer of the "Miss Hong Kong" and "Miss Chinese International" beauty pageants.

Moreover, he was a well-known fashion and trends columnist for newspapers and magazines. In 1994, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council named him one of the “most representing of Hong Kong fashion designers”.

In 1997, when his fashion career was very prosperous, the Asian Financial Crisis hit Hong Kong severely. Seeing a lot of garment companies, suppliers and large retail department stores in the industry going bankrupt in succession, Alan Ho had a lot of mixed emotions.
